Recently, I have had the interest to become a police officer. My current local PD has a civil service exam followed by an interview. The candidates who score the highest get priority over those who did not fair so well.
I have been looking into this for some time. I contacted an adviser (collegiate) to maybe help me finish my degree in criminal justice instead of history. I plan on becoming a volunteer this summer, take aikido and jujitsu, and do several ride alongs. I will be graduating in 2009 (Fall) and I currently live in Texas.
I’m in extremely fit shape, weighing 161 with 9% bodyfat.
I want this to be my future, and I don’t mind where I live as long as it’s in Texas.
My question is, is there a demand for Texas LEO’s? I really want to make my career in local LE. How do I land the job?
